Video Game Music Con Puerto Rico 2022

Hey everyone! We talked with Juan D. Cruz Caballer (Composer/Sound Designer) who is one of the Main Organizers of the Video Game Music Con Puerto Rico event in August 6-7, on our videocast! Also joining us, was Bryan B. Bonilla Diaz (Sound Designer/Indie Developer) who is in charge of the collaboration initiative between the PRGDA and the VGMCPR, setting up two panels for the event. We covered details regarding the Video Game Music Con Puerto Rico event, the panels that can will be available for attendees, the importance of video game music/sound composition/design in the industry, and more!

Juan’s Bio: Juan Cruz is a composer and violinist based in Puerto Rico. His compositions aim to combine orchestral textures with modern and diverse sound elements. Cruz works as a freelance session violinist and video game music producer. Some projects where his music and sound can be heard include “Acorn” (Autumn Game Jam, 2021) and “Cycle of Spore” (Dungeon Crawler Jam, 2022).

Bryan’s Bio: Bryan B. Bonilla Díaz is a Puerto Rican, independent developer with a diverse experience and focus on games and audio. He has been developing and prototyping games within the local scene for 5+ years. Currently working on PixelTwips as a passion project, and as well on Behbes Adventure as a Sound Designer. Besides working on games, he is a self-taught bedroom producer and sound designer that incorporates his work for game projects. Bryan graduated from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico (Bayamón Campus), with a BS in Game Design & Development (including a minor in Computer Science).
