Fireside Chat with Puerto Rican Developers!
We engage with Coraly Rosario (Senior UX Designer and Nianticos Co-Lead), Samuel Villanueva (Senior Game Designer at Niantic) and Gabe Arniella (Games Product Management at Mythical Games), part of the team behind Marvel’s World of Heroes, in a casual conversation about the industry in the United States, their experience thus far, any tips and tricks learned along the way, and answer questions from the chat directed at these Puerto Rican developers!
Coraly’s Bio: Coraly Rosario is a senior UX designer with close to 10 years of experience working on games, apps, and web products. She's currently at Niantic LA where she is also a co-lead of Nianticos –Niantic's Latin American & Hispanic ERG– and the Vice-president of the Puerto Rican Game Developers Association (PRGDA). As a diversity, inclusion, and belonging advocate, she's actively involved in creating opportunities for underrepresented communities to find careers in the game industry.
Samuel’s Bio: Veteran Game Designer with over 25 years of development experience throughout four console generations. Has been described as a collaborative designer with an inclusive philosophy and a solid foundation, accompanied by a heavy focus on creating fun, exciting player experiences.
Gabe’s Bio: Gabe grew up in Atlanta, GA and now lives in Los Angeles, CA. After a career in strategy consulting, Gabe started working in games in 2015. An alum of Activision Blizzard, Scopely, and Niantic Labs, Gabe is optimistic about the gaming industry's future generations creating incredible new experiences.
